LEARNING SUPPORT

We lay a strong foundation in literacy for every student. Guided by the Colorado READ Act, our Literacy Interventionist assesses students' reading skills and creates personalized READ plans for those who need extra support.  Working closely with classroom teachers, they help set goals, track progress, implement curriculum, and organize small groups based on students' needs. This allows for targeted instruction and ensures each child gets focused support in the skills they need most. Students who need additional help receive one-on-one or small-group intervention to boost their confidence and accelerate growth. By providing early, proactive support, we prevent reading gaps from widening—turning “I can’t read” into “I’m a reader.”

We are committed to helping all students build a strong, confident foundation in math. Our math intervention program provides targeted instruction for students who need extra support developing essential skills and concepts. Using data and classroom assessments, our team identifies students who would benefit from small-group or one-on-one instruction. We tailor lessons to meet each child’s unique needs, focusing on building understanding, problem-solving strategies, and math fluency. By supporting students early and consistently, we help them overcome challenges, grow their confidence, and develop a positive mindset about math.

At Renaissance, we use iMTSS (Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports) to ensure every student gets the academic and social-emotional support they need to thrive. iMTSS is a proactive, data-driven approach that helps us identify student needs early and provide the right level of help—whether it's extra support, enrichment, or something in between.

Through this system, students receive targeted instruction in reading, math, behavior, or social-emotional skills, with ongoing progress monitoring to guide our next steps. Our goal is to create a school environment where all learners feel supported, challenged, and successful.

What is iMTSS?

At Renaissance, we are committed to meeting the needs of every learner. Our Special Education team provides individualized support for students with a range of learning differences, helping them grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our services follow a Moderate Needs model, which focuses on building the skills and strategies students need to succeed alongside their peers. Support may be provided through small group instruction, co-teaching, direct instruction, classroom accommodations, or specialized materials.

Students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) receive support tailored to their strengths and challenges, with the goal of helping them fully access and benefit from the general education program. In addition to academic support, we offer itinerant services such as:

• Assistive Technology

Our dedicated team works with students from kindergarten through sixth grade, using a collaborative approach that includes teachers, specialists, and families. Together, we ensure that every student receives the tools and encouragement needed to thrive—in school and in life.
