My Favorite Things

Meet Ms. Halle

Hi! My name is Halle McMillen and I am the Social Emotional (SEL)/Math Interventionist here at Renaissance! My job consists of teaching social emotional lessons to crews, working on social skills with students in small group settings, supporting math skills in small groups, and providing regulation/behavior support as needed! I also lead our IMTSS student support team.

Before starting at REMS I was a classroom teacher in second and third grade for three years. Prior to graduating from Indiana University with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education, I received the amazing opportunity of teaching in Dublin, Ireland for three months. In 2023 I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Trauma and Resiliency. This year I am starting my Master's in Special Education.

I moved to Colorado in 2022 from Bloomington, Indiana. I have absolutely loved living here and getting to explore! In my free time I love painting, reading, hanging out with my pets, and baking.

The best part about my job is getting to know all of your students and being in their crews with them on a weekly basis! It is so much fun to get to work with them on friendship skills, problem solving, emotion management, goal setting, etc. and know that these skills are vital to not only our culture here at REMS as Crew, but also to creating a healthy sense of self for them as individuals. I am also excited to work with students on developing a positive identity around being a mathematician in intervention groups.  I look forward to another great school year!
