Meet Ms. Lauren
Hello! My name is Ms. Lauren, and I’m a third grade teacher at Renaissance.
Here is a little bit about me. I grew up in Mammoth Lakes, California in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. I did my undergraduate at UC Irvine and later earned my Teaching License and Master’s in Education from the University of Denver. I’ve been part of the Renaissance community since 2007, teaching Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 5th grade.
Family means everything to me. I married my high school sweetheart, and we will be celebrating our 19th anniversary this summer. I’m also a proud mom of twins, Charlotte and Tobias, who attend Renaissance. This summer, we added a new member to our family, our puppy Ender. Outside of school, I love staying active, mountain biking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I enjoy doing offroad sprint triathlons, which consist of paddleboarding, mountain biking, and trail running.
This will be my 13th year teaching at Renaissance. Renaissance has such an incredible way of nurturing empathy, critical thinking, and curiosity to empower learners to be kind, active citizens who understand the meaning of CREW. Through expeditionary learning, students are encouraged to ask questions and dig deeper, explore multiple perspectives, and learn through hands-on experiences. With adventure education, kids become better versions of themselves through taking risks, stepping outside comfort zones, facing adversity with grace, reflecting on personal growth, and learning to work as a team. I truly believe that this is the BEST model of education, and it is a true honor to be part of these students’ journeys. They are going to change the world. WE ARE CREW!
