Meet Ms. Sarah
Hello! My name is Sarah Backus and I’m excited for another great year here at REMS. Teaching in a community like we have is very special. I have a deep passion for education and at its core, student connection, engagement, and discovery. I am committed to helping students grow by providing instruction that meets their individual needs. I believe that targeted support and meaningful challenges enable students to build confidence, strengthen their literacy skills, and develops enthusiastic readers.
Colorado became my home many years ago and I love the natural beauty and sunshine here! My husband and I have two kids who keep our lives very vibrant. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, watching sporting events, hanging out with our dogs, reading, and living lake life whenever possible! I have a Master’s in Education from Regis University and have held several different teaching positions in Douglas County.
